30th September, Saturday 2007

___________________________________________________________

To all you newcomers of Club Penguin, your stuck in the middle of a room and have no idea what is going on. Never fear. Pingpongpen6 is here.

Even though this page seems long, it will be very help

ful, so if you need help, scroll down.

____________________________________________________________

Once you’ve made your account, you will probably be sent an activation code right? Well, with the activation code will be a link which sends you to an activation page. Put your code in, and your ready to play!

Once you have typed your username and password in, there will be a choice to select a thing called a server. There are many servers in Club Penguin, although they are set fo the different countries and continents. Chose the country/continent that you live in, and then you will see some servers that will look like this (this is only a couple of the servers.)

You can click on any of the servers. This is only a few, but is good enough for an example. If the server says full on top of it, that means you can either refresh or choose a different server, because that server already has enough penguins.

If there is a :D in the one little bubble on the left of the server name, that means one of your buddies is online. If there is a speech bubble on the server, that means it is an Ultimate Safe Chat server and you can only chose ready made messages, emotes, actions and greeting cards. That’s enough for servers, once you get in… here is a little begginers guide thing.

Player Cards

So, you’ve just landed in a room. There is penguins in clothes and holding items and accesories you have never ever seen a penguin wear. All you’ve got is colour. Well, first of all , if you click on a penguin, a thing called their player card will pop up. That will show you all of the clothes the penguins wearing, the backround, the pin, or the flag (if they’ve got any of those things. Like below, this is an example of a penguin with nothing… just like you!

You also have the choice of adding them as a buddy, ignoring the penguin or reporting the penguin. If you are they’re buddy, you have the choice of going to their igloo or finding them when they are on the same server. Cool huh!

 Clothes and Items

Now, just say you are a member and you bought a hat for instance, or there is a party, and there is a free item such as a blue hawaian lei.
You have got it, but have no idea how to put it on. Well, it is all very simple. All you have to do is clikc on your penguin and press the little arrows on the right hand side. If you have bought or received something, you can put them on by clicking on them.

(example of the blue lei :D )

Here you can click on the item.

Simple.

 Games

In Club Penguin, there are many games. Single or Multiplayer, most earn you coins which buy you clothes, backgrounds, some pins, puffles and heaps more.

Here is a list:

All of the games are different and there is only two that don’t earn coins. Below is a games guide. Enjoy!

………………………………………………………………………

Hockey

Hockey is at the Ice Rink and is one of the games which does not earn you coins.

Hockey is not a game where you go to the door and it says, do you want to play? It is a game where you simply just go to the ice rink and play against as many penguins possible. The fun thing is that you can make up any rules and the puck is controlled by you.

The rule most people follow is if your team gets the puck into the net 10 times, you win the game, but others are different.

…………………………………………………………………………………

Cart surfer

Cart surfer is basically my all time fave game. It is found in the underground cave and is short, simple, fun and earns heaps of coins!

Cart surfer is easy enough to understand. I learnt how to play by pressing the arrow buttons randomly and getting around 350 coins. It only takes around 1-2minutes and if you are a member and need to buy something quickly, then that’s the game to play. When you see an arrow/curve coming, that means you have to turn. Easy ay!

Just a picture of me leaning back. :)

……………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

Find four

I love find four. This is another multiplayer game that almost everyone loves. It is found in the main floor and attic of the ski lodge and is a great game to just chill out.

It is a simple enough game to understand, all you really have to do is make a row of four with your counters. In the end you get around 20-30 coins… maybe less maybe more.

what a game of find four looks like without somebody getting a line! :D

……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

Ice fishing

A game which is long but worth it, ice fishing is a great game where you can just sit back, oh and its in the ski lodge.

Such a simple game, the aim is to catch as many fish as possible. Barrels and boots knock your fish of your line while jellies, crabs and sharks cost you a worm. At the end, there is a big fish. He is simple to catch, i dunno about the penguin though, but i’ll give you a hint. You can’t catch him with worms. Easy huh. Look at my picture.

This is funny… thans to spikedude… doesnt really happen… just a joke… but that’s what the game looks like! :D

……………………………………………………………………………………………………….

Astro Barrier

This is such an easy game…. love it though. Upstairs the danceclub.

Shoot all the targets and you got yourself a winning player. Gets harder though throughout the levels.

yeh.

……………………………………………………………………………..

Mancala

This is probably the hardest game to explain. Found in the book room, mancala is fun, but should be worth at least fifty coins for the loser of the game and 80 for the winner.

It is too hard to explain, although for some reason, I always win even against the best. I think everyone can go without an explanation with this one. Theres rules on the wall. Have fun!

this is what a game looks like… smario64 is very good…. nessimo isn’t so good… no offence. :D

…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

Bean Counters

What an amazing game… this is another of my fave’s… earns about 450- 500 coins for me and is found in the coffee shop.

All you have to do is catch bean bags, without being hit by any of the flying objects. The most bags you can hold is 5 and also being five trucks. The more trucks you go through, the harder the levels get. The aim of the game is to collect as many bags as possible.

The game “Bean counters” is found in the coffee shop. Enjoy!

____________________________________________________________

Sled Racing

What an enjoyavble game, ye old sled racing. Kind of a rip off with coins, but such a fun multiplayer game.

All you have to do in sled racing is use the arrow keys to move your penguin and not fall over any obstacles. Quite easy, short and fun so, no more explaining to do.

This picture actually isn’t right becasue the name of your penguin is ment to be down the bottom, but this is what it looks like!

__________________________________________________________

Hydrohopper (Ballistic Biscuit )

I love hydrohopper which was originally called Ballistic Biscuit! Such a great game which earns you around 300-500 coins if played well and long. The aim is to keep all your tubes, well as many as possible and jump over as many things as possible. Fun and easy!

What it looks like ( a little blurry sorry!)

_______________________________________________________

Catchin Waves

For all you surfin penguins out there, this is your game! Do cool tricks on your surfboard and earn heaps of coins! At the cove, it is extremly popular and you can either play freestyle, comp, lessons or survival! Try it out!

 The menu!

___________________________________________________________

The best game ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Fly around in a jet pack geting fuel and coins… at the beacon! But you may discover that getting nothing can be better in the end :O

No pic 4 that sorry.

__________________________________________________________

Pizzatron 3000

The highest coin game when played properly, pizzatron is long, fun and easy! Make your own pizzas and earn over 1000 coins! Also play Candytron and earn 1200+ coins!

Located in the pizza Parlor!

Click on the lever to play the coin earning candytron!

_______________________________________________________

Puffle Round-up

Ahh.. this game brings puffles to my ears! Located in the puffle shop, the aim of the game is to round all of the puffles into the pen! Earn as many coins as you lik,e by playing longer and loading these sweet little colourful, fluffy, cute balls of puffley, cuddly, sweety goodness!

Clikc on the door to play… as fever said!

_________________________________________________________

Thin Ice

Another puffle game, this time the star being the black puffle on fire. Located upstairs of the dance club is thin ice, an arcade game which requires skill, concentration and yeh. Earns a lot of coins if played well and finished completely and is a ton of fun!

The easiest and first level of thin ice!

That concludes the Game guide!

The one thing I should have told you is how to walk around if your a real newcomer. Quite simple, just click an area of a room you want to walk and you will go there.  If you want to go to a different room, you can click the pathway leading to it or if you want to go into a building or thing with a door, just click on the door… simple!

…………………..

Map

The map is another way to move from one room to another. It is located on the bottom left corner of your screen. When you open the map, click an icon to visit that place. There are few places in Club Penguin that are only accessed by the map.

As you can see, this is a well detailed map of Club penguin with added arrows.

__________________________________________________________

Your igloo

So, you know the toolbar with chat on it, you will see a little button with a house on it which is the home button. If you click on that, you will go staright to your igloo.

When you want to decorate your igloo which is for members, click on the tape measure.

Any furnitrue or things that are from the furniture catalogue is placed in storage, which is the card board box.

Sometimes you can play music in your igloo. Clikc on the tape to chose.

If you are a member, you have the choice of putting your igloo on the map for all penguins to see. To do that, press on the padlock. To take it of, repeat.

If you are a visitor, you can press on the members igloos on the map and click on an igloo you would like to visit.

_______________________________________________________

Coins

To earn coins on Club Penguin, all you have to do is play games. Sometimes, there is competitions going on around Club Penguin and winners sometimes recieve coins. Coins are used to buy for non members backgrounds, colours and other limited edition things while members can buy plus all of the above clothes, furniture, igloos and puffles.

  • Make a submission:
To submit a poem, riddle, joke, or comic, open the paper, go to page D1 and follow the instructions.
  • Archived issues
Read old issues of the newspaper in the Boiler Room. Click the filing cabinet drawer or the cabinet icon in the bottom right hand corner of your screen to find the last six issues.

Just a picture of the boiler room where the newspapers are stalled.

Characters (copied from Club penguin help section)

Rockhopper is an adventuring penguin. He sails the seas in his ship, the Migrator, in search of treasure and adventure. He returns to Club Penguin approximately every two months with items to sell. When he’s in Club Penguin, his ship is docked at the Beach, next to the Lighthouse. You can board the ship and visit the Main Deck and the Hold.

Find out more about Rockhopper by reading his journal. It is located on the bottom right of the screen when you board his ship.

Can I really meet Rockhopper?

Yes! Whenever his ship is docked at the Beach, you may be lucky enough to meet him. He likes to hang out on his ship. If you don’t find him there, ask around. He is a red penguin who wears the name Rockhopper and has a black beard and pirate hat. He considers himself a friend to everyone in Club Penguin and would love to meet you too.

Can I travel with Rockhopper?

Rockhopper is the captain of his own ship, and except for the addition of Yarr, he prefers to travel alone.

How can I find out more about Rockhopper?

Read his journal the next time he is in town. It is located on the bottom right corner of your screen when you are on board his ship. It is always docked at the Beach beside the Lighthouse.

Aunt Arctic

Aunt Arctic is the weekly advice columnist for the Club Penguin Times. Every week she answers two questions sent to her by penguins from around the island. She first started writing for the newspaper in May, 2006. She loves to receive questions. She receives a lot of mail and does not have time to respond personally to questions. Read her column each week to see if she answers your question.

Can I meet Aunt Arctic?

Aunt Arctic is very busy with her writing. You can’t meet her right now, but read her column and send her a question. She might just answer your question!

How do I send Aunt Arctic a question?

Go to Aunt Arctic’s column in the newspaper and click on the ‘send a question’ icon. Write your question in the message box and click send.

Can I write for the Penguin Times?

There are a few different ways penguins can contribute to the Penguin Times newspaper. Every week jokes, poems and riddles submitted by penguins are published. If you like drawing, you can submit a comic to be published. There are too many submissions to publish all of them, so only a selection will be used. To send a joke, poem, riddle or comic go to the last page of the newspaper and follow the instructions.

Gary the Gadget Guy

Gary is Club Penguin’s resident inventor. He has built plenty of inventions that penguins all over the island now enjoy: the clock tower at the Snow Forts, the Pizzatron 3000, jet packs in Jet Pack Adventure, and the AC 3000 cooling system are just a few.Gary is always busy with new inventions and doesn’t spend a lot of time socializing. He prefers to work alone.
